Did you knew that there are no safety regulations for newborn photography? It is completely the photographer’s responsibility to learn what is save and what is not when you are working with new babies.
I always put the newborn safety forefront of my profession. There are several risky positions that definitely need composite imagery: the potato sack pose, the froggy pose and the suspended baby.
In the first 2 positions babies head needs to be supported at all times. Usually I am asking the parents to help me.
Any images that show a suspended baby are always done on a bean bag.
My dear new parents, please, don’t trust a photographer if he/she leaves your baby without support in any risky positions. Before booking, please, ask your photographer about safety measures during the photo session.
