YOU JUST HAVE TO CLICK THE SHUTTER, WHY YOU CHARGE SO MUCH FOR THAT???

Today one of my prospective clients messaged me: “I think $300 is too much for a few photos” 😬😳 So I would like to talk with you about prices and why good photographers are not cheap.

When you pay a photographer, you are paying for much more than just a few hours session and a few prints. So let’s talk about some of the behind the scene things you are paying for.

⏳TIME
A photographer spends hours on one session! You are not only paying for shoot time, but for prep time, travel time, cleaning the studio time, time to upload photos and sort them out (to choose the best ones), editing time (it takes me between 45 and 70 minutes to edit one image), time to communicate with clients, marketing time etc.

📸 EQUIPMENT
Photography equipment is expensive and needs to be updated every few years. Different types of photographers require different equipment, but just the basics are: a camera body, lenses, memory cards, batteries, chargers, flash, lights, props, a computer, editing software and other things.

🍎EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Whether your photographer went to school or is self-taught, chances are s/he put an incredible amount of time and money into educating him/herself and improving his or her skills.

PHOTOGRAPHY IS AN ART AND NOT JUST “CLICKING A BUTTON”.
