It is obvious and obsoletly normal that not everyone knows that a photographer’s job is not only to take pictures. There is so much behind the scenes.
Depending on a photo shoot, I need to hire an assistant or a makeup artist. I need to constantly buy new props, outfits, backdrops. I need to pay for editing software, websites, online galleries. I need to properly maintain and sometimes even buy new photography gear and lightning, which is pretty expansive.
And I am also spending hours on communications with my clients before & after the photo session. As well as I’m spending many hours at my computer with post processing the images, sorting them, downloading the online gallery for my clients, making arts and prints orders and so on.
So, please, think about all the things mentioned above before asking yourself why you have to pay so much for a professional photo session. Because you are paying not only for “clicking the button”.
Have you ever hired a professional photographer? How was your experience?
