Not all the photographers would do a newborn photo sessions in a client’s home.

1st of all it all depends on the photographer’s style. Also, most of the professionals prefer to work in the studio.

For example, I am not a lifestyle photographer, so I will not be able to do a photo session in your home. But that’s not the only reason. I use a lot of props and outfits, blankets and wraps, towels and little supporting pillows, and many other things. You can imagine that I will not be able to take everything with me.

Though my main source of light is the natural light from the window, I do also have supporting studio lights if needed.

The studio is carefully cleaned and disinfected after each client that comes in. And a new mom will find here everything she might need – from new pacifiers to bottle warmer, and wipes, and everything else.

If you invite a photographer in your home you have to be prepared that it’s gonna be a lifestyle session or a documentary style session. The house must be perfectly clean and I supposed you don’t want that when you delivered a baby just a few days ago. Some photographers will even move objects and furniture in your home.

So, if you’re choosing between a home photo session and a studio photo shoot, it all depends on your preferences, like what style of photography you like and do you want your home to feature in the photographs.
